Serious Play

... is what French-Japanese artist Nicolas Buffe calls his work on the façade of the Museum Garage in Miami. This kitchen and accompanying pantry design also takes the game very, very seriously: bright colors, a mix of materials, textures and plenty of courage create a space that not only conveys the warmth of a sunny beach day, but also timeless nonchalance. All the design axes of the room structure - height, depth, width - are elegantly cherry-picked or deliberately taken off the top. Real wood fronts made of oak veneer create a natural volume and emphasize the longitudinal axis. Past the central block with its expressive polished granite, to the dining area facing the tranquillity of the garden.
